Vitopel Argentina films are not water-soluble and, due to their low density, float on water. Although their degradation in sanitary landfills is very slow, they do not release any substances harmful to the environment during this process. VITOPEL ARGENTINA are produced for various industries, including the food packaging industry. They comply with current legal regulations in user countries, such as the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and Mercosur resolutions, allowing their use in contact with all types of food. For metallized films, direct contact between food and the metallized surface should be avoided. Excessive friction on this surface may lead to detachment of the deposited metal.
The films of VITOPEL ARGENTINA are inert and non-toxic. However, in case of ingestion, it is recommended to consult a physician.

VITOPEL ARGENTINA films are not known to cause adverse effects upon skin contact. However, as allergic reactions may be unpredictable, medical advice is recommended in such cases.
VITOPEL ARGENTINA films are combustible and will burn when exposed to flames, releasing smoke that is harmful to health and should not be inhaled.
In the event of a fire, the films will sustain combustion even after the ignition source is removed, provided that adequate oxygen is present in the atmosphere. Note: The autoignition temperature of the film exceeds 280°C.
Fires involving films can be controlled using a conventional fire extinguisher, preferably a tri-class (ABC) dry powder or water-based extinguisher. Nonetheless, limitations may arise depending on the presence of other materials.
It is recommended to use the films only for the purpose for which they were manufactured. For example, they should not be used as decoration in places where there is a risk of fire.
Vitopel Argentina films remain suitable for use for up to six (6) months for non-metallized BOPP and CPP materials, three three (3) months for metallized BOPP and CPP materials, and one (1) year for HB (high barrier) materials, counted from the date of invoicing.
For the storage of Vitopel Argentina films, proper stock rotation is recommended, and storage temperatures should be maintained between 18°C and 28°C.
Additionally, we recommend that the films are not exposed directly to sunlight and/or rain, and that they remain in their original packaging during storage to protect the product from dust and physical, chemical, and biological contaminants.
Stacking of pallets is not recommended. However, studies have shown that stacking up to two (2) pallets or a maximum height of three (3) meters is possible without causing damage to the product.

VITOPEL ARGENTINA films are not water-soluble and, being less dense than water, they float. Regarding sanitary landfilling, their degradation is very slow; however, they do not release substances harmful to the environment during this process.
Unprinted films are not classified as special waste and can therefore be recycled multiple times through extrusion, or incinerated to obtain thermal or electrical energy. Special care must be taken when handling metallized film waste, as the metallic layer may conduct electricity.
The packaging of the reels consists of wood (pallets and side panels) and/or returnable plastic (pallets and side panels). The latter are the property of VITOPEL ARGENTINAand must be prepared for recovery and reuse.
The remaining packaging materials, if reuse is not possible, may be disposed of or recycled together with similar materials.
Vitopel Argentina films can be printed or laminated using standard equipment available on the market, along with commonly used solvents, inks, and adhesives, provided that the precautions recommended by each manufacturer are followed. Additional recommendations can be obtained from our Commercial Department.
It is recommended that the drying temperature used in conversion processes does not exceed 75°C in order to avoid dimensional distortion of the film.
To avoid deformation of Vitopel Argentina films, it is recommended to use moderate sealing temperatures (below 145°C) along with short dwell times, especially on low-speed packaging equipment.
All Vitopel Argentina films can be used in freezer applications. However, direct use in cooking processes is not recommended, and they should not be used for heating high-fat or high-sugar foods in microwave ovens at temperatures above 120°C.
